Period pain, Heavy flow, Clotting, PMS?

Some Common Menstrual Disorders & Infertility Factors

• Menstrual problems- irregular periods, painful (dysmenorrhea) or heavy (menorrhagia) periods and absence of periods (amenorrhea) especially following oral contraceptive pill. Many of these conditions result in an inability to conceive.

• Endometriosis – this is a condition where the endometrial tissue which lines the uterus begins to grow in other area around the abdominal cavity, which can include the fallopian tubes, bowels etc. This tissue is responsive to hormone changes in the monthly cycle and therefore the lining develops and sheds the same as the uterine lining. This therefore results in bleeding into other areas to the abdominal cavity (pooling of blood), dark blood or clots and pain. Endometrosis is very commonly associated with infertility and most GP's will refer directly for IVF procedures. Many women with this condition have very successful conceived on the Liz Lalor Fertility program.

• Fibroids – Are benign growths of the muscle cells of the uterus walls and sometimes the cervix. The most common symptoms are abnormally heavy and frequent periods. There can also be anemia, bleeding between periods, fatigue/weakness, painful sexual intercourse, bleeding after intercourse. Depending on their location they can also put pressure on the bowel and bladder. Estrogen dominance as well as exposure to plastics and some chemicals (xenoestrogens) can promote fibroids. Again, many women with this condition have very successful conceived on this program.

• Poly cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) - is a hormonal disorder which affects about 12% of Australian women. The cysts associated with PCOS are very tiny and are actually eggs that have failed to mature and release from the ovaries. Other signs or symptoms can be excessive hair growth on the face or abdomen, or hair loss, acne, obesity, infertility or reduces fertility due to lack of ovulation, irregular or absent periods. PCOS is also thought to be due to overproduction of estrogen as it decreases with menopause. Women with PCOS respond well to this homeopathic fertility program.
